Late night. Can't sleep. Happen to you guys?

Grahhh. It's about 1:00 A.M. on a Monday. I have school tomorrow, but I'm not going. I'm just interested in sleeping in tomorrow. I might do some Starcraft 2 replays. I've just been exhausted. Sorry guys, I've been neglecting you. So as a question, are you excited for Diablo 3? If so, which class are you gonna play? I myself am going Demon Hunter xD

A.V.A First Impressions (and my failed attempt at neo-steam)

Okay, so I tried to do Neo Steam, which is an MMO set in a steampunk world. I was intrigued by steampunk, cause it looks awesome, and tried it. I didn't play very much, cause it was unclear on what to do, the controls annoyed the hell out of me, and it seemed like a low-quality WOW-clone.

Still, looked nice on the website. I'll be doing Alliance of Valiant Arms, or A.V.A. for short. I've been playing it a bit, and it runs smooth. Controls feel nice and responsive, good amount of players, and it's just fun. It's also really pretty for a F2P game.

More on that later on. For now, peace off guys!

Oh, and if you guys should happen to want to game with me at any time, my usual user is Arion676.

Genesis A.D.

It's a well-built fps, for those without parents that love them or who don't have an income. Actually, it's decent for any FPS. Doesn't compare to high-budget ones though. The graphics look good, and it runs fairly smooth for a F2P. The response and weapon handling is nice. Downsides, not enough customization, and low amounts of maps. Gets boring quick, but I'm sure they will patch that eventually. It's good if you are bored of other first person shooters, and it adds an interesting aspect with the supersuit power thingamajigs.

Engine/graphics: 7.5
It looks good. nuff said. Not the prettiest, but I'll take it. As for the physics engine, it handles pretty well, though sometimes you will get shot and knocked across the map. Nothing that truly affects gameplay though

Controls: 9.5
Really kinda hard to screw up controls on a PC shooter, I just don't agree with pulling out the knife to be "f" and still having to click to use it. Feels weird man.

Play: 7.5
It feels new, and can be annoying at times. The powers do add an interesting aspect though, and it's quite fun. Hard to get used to though, and the playerbase is kinda noobish, and small.

Overall: 7
It's good, for a time. You may want to come back after a couple of months when they add more, and it is still only a F2P, so I guess we should be impressed with how well it is designed. Also, supplier is useless.

Next game is Neosteam, which is a F2P mmorpg set in a steampunk themed world, sorry I haven't played it yet, and won't be able to give first impressions on it just yet.

Free-to-play?

There has been a recent uprise in the free-to-play online games. Now while none of them can exactly compete with the likes of fully funded MMO's and the like, they are good for a bit of fun. First of all, the free-to-play online games have a few different genres and types. They are funded through player micro-transactions, for better items, or cosmetic upgrades, or even double-XP. I have spent a lot of time trying out different ones, and I'll post a review on each one in the following weeks. I'll start with Genesis A.D. released by IJJI recently. I'll be sure to drop that either later tonight or tomorrow, links to download are here:
http://www.ijji.com/

Note: you have to install the ijji reactor software, which is more than slightly annoying, but it's worth it for the game. Try it if ya like, but for first impressions, which I will include for the followup games in here, here it is.

I believe this is a pretty worthwhile FPS, paid or free. Special certain powers using different groups. If I had to compare it to something, I'd say a Crysis 2 lookalike. Some different mechanics, but all-in-all, it's a great game to pick up and try. Graphics look pretty smooth, and the servers are fast enough to get by with low ping. I haven't had an issue with lag or choppy framerate yet. It runs with a smooth flow, but is still fast-paced enough to keep you entertained.

Funnyjunk - Funny Pictures and Funny Videos

So this saps away a lot of my time. Mostly stuff taken from 4chan, and other various sites, but good for a decent laugh every once in a while.

I don't get stumped a lot, but this question made me think.

An innocent question."What is your favorite memory?"
Why can't I answer. I know I'm happy when I talk to you, but that's a whole list of memories. I get giddy when I see a textification, or IM. My favorite memory is actually of meeting you. For more than just you. We had a great time with friends, I got to feel like Harry Potter. But I finally got to meet you in person, and see who you really were. I guess that's when I started to feel for you. I'm not sure what's happening, and I really hate to be the sap who says this. I scold them all the time on facebook. "Omg, she's so perfect, kisses babe!" I won't ever be quite like that, hence why I am using this medium instead. Less traffic, less people to annoy. I just had to get it out.

Okay so Minecraft has taken over most of my life. My Nvidia Geforce 8400 is finally not good enough to handle today's games. Or at least it was till I overclocked it. It will make do until I decide to upgrade. Now for your gaming news!

I decided to make a news topic, and just inform you guys on upcoming stuffs. The Crysis 2 demo looks amazing, and the full game is slated for release in mid-March if you wish to make your computers cry. Unfortunately, the demo is only for Xbox 360. I tried to play it, but then my xbox crapped out.

The PSP2, or NGP, is sporting a quad-core processor, and intense graphics. It's about as powerful as the PS3. A handheld, as powerful as a console? Seems like it has potential, it also got rid of the analog nub, and has micro-analog sticks.

Ummmummm, Nothing else I can think of off the top of my head, but 2011 looks like it has some pretty promising releases. Diablo 3, Crysis 2, Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Should be interesting to say the least! Comment with any games/ tech stuff you are looking forward to for this year!

More Minecraft Pixel art coming soon! I'm currently working on Crono, Lucca, Marle, Magus, Robo, and Frog from Chrono Trigger for the SNES, as well as a chocobo from the Final Fantasy games! If you'd like to see something made with pixels, leave me a link to a sprite below, and I'll do my best. On another note, I decided to embark a journey, that's gonna take 3 years. It was a scam on facebook, that actually sounded like a good idea. I'm going to take a picture of my face, every day, for three years. I will post the pictures from the week every Sunday on this blog, so it doesn't take over this blog entirely, and I'll be sure to update this, at least twice a week guise! Well, time for me to go pixelificate things, kthxbai, and Lessthanthree!

Yoyos!

Solike, this wasn't serious yoyo time, just me messing around, so I mess up a lot, and 0:40-1:00 makes me cry a little on the inside.

On horror games/movies.

I thought I'd make a slightly longer post right here. I like to play a lot of horror games. They terrify me, and it's amazing. I remember playing FEAR back in the day, and almost screaming.Horror movies never really got to me though. I think it's the level of immersion that video games have. Regardless, here is a list of horror games that I find to be wonderfully frightening! My top five are:

5. Dead Space
I just played this game, and it has a lot of jump at you scary! It also has a unique way of bringing you in by Having no HUD, and making all displays completely in-game. It adds a great deal to the realism of the game, and draws the player in.I am excited for the second one :D

4.Doom 3
This game is a lot darker, with much more Jumpy OH MY JESUS IT'S GONNA EAT ME! moments. It leaves you with little ammo, and the monsters are powerful. However, it kinda dries out later in the game, but I'll never forget when you first get attacked by a hell knight in this game. That's the big guy in the poster btw.

3.F.E.A.R.
This game really made me paranoid. I kept checking over my shoulder while I played it, and Alma still scares the shift out of me. I had to play this game with friends, but I couldn't bear to play it in the light. It had to be dark, with the sound turned up. The environments aren't necessarily scary in here, but that little girl is enough to make me shit brix when she lights a warehouse on fire!

2.Amnesia: The Dark Descent
THE DESCENT OF DARKNESS! Alright though, this game is terrible. You get know weapons, dropped into a situation that you have no idea what is going on. Random doors will fly open, shadows make you go insane. I'm utterly terrified to play it. But yet, it feels so right. Definitely a good substitute for a checkup on your heart. My only vocabulary while playing this is a constant, omgomgomgomgomg OH SHIT!

1. Bioshock
I have no idea why this terrifies me so much. It could be the little sisters who will cut you open and take your ADAM, or maybe the Big Daddies who will cut you apart for them. Or it could be the hordes of splicers who have been made batshit crazy over ADAM, and now try to get their hands on it wherever they can. A utopianistic society, with no boundaries, which destroyed itself, and it's underwater for god sakes! No way out.

Joe, Drummer of Against Thee Wickedly

So, My band's name is Against Thee Wickedly, and it is Me on guitars, Kevin Long as lead singer, and Joe Kennedy on the drums. This is just to show how beast Joe is on the drums. We have a lot planned for this year, and we might have a bassist soon!

Ohyay, I got one!

Alright, so this'll just be introductory I guess? My name is Michael, and I play le guitar, and I'm in choir. I also play with le yoyos, I'll post some videos on here soon! Of either guitarness, yoyofication, or something that just seems fun!
